We didn’t start the fire!

Last weekend I was introduced to more lovely fragments from Bangor City’s history. Firstly, Joris pointed me in the direction of two photos of Farrar Road that Groundtastic had posted on twitter.

The first photo was taken during an Wales v England amateur international in 1950.

The second photo, also from 1950, portrays perfect pre-season pitch preparations.

Then I was reintroduced to this Widzew Lodz scarf.

Then somebody posted a poster for the forthcoming U16 international in Nantporth on facebook.

Wales u16s poster

Strictly speaking this poster for a future event isn’t part of the club’s history – I’m not stupid, I know future events can’t be part of the past –  but it does contain a link to Bangor City’s history. I’m reliably informed that the youngster in the poster is Nathan Broadhead, the grandson of Bangor legend Tony Broadhead. Even if it isn’t Nathan he’s still part of the Wales u16 squad that’s playing in Bangor.
